Foundation For Oily Skin 1: Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation [Makeup Review]

Hello everyone, today I would like to share my thoughts on this Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation. This probably is my very first foundation review. If you have oily skin like me, read on to find out how I find this foundation works on me.

 pink-swirly-hiClaim:

Maybelline Fit me! Matte + Poreless is an ultra-lightweight foundation contains micro-powders that absorb oil for a matte and poreless-looking finish. What’s more, it’s unique formula does not clog pores and is oil free; therefore, it matches the texture of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural fit. Also, it is dermatologist and allergy tested.

My thoughts:

Before I explained my thoughts, I have to clarify that Maybelline has two foundations in the Fit Me range:

Since my skin is in the oily category, therefore I choose the Fit Me Matte + Poreless one.

The Formula

*Just for your information, I tested this foundation on a bare face (no primer, no concealer, no skincare).

The texture of the formula is creamy, but is a little runny.  It is not as thin and runny as the Maybelline’s new liquid powder though. The new liquid powder is runnier of course, as it is liquid after all.

The foundation is very easy to blend. I usually like to use my Real Technique sponge to apply face products, but this time I prefer to use my stippling brush instead. The brush allows me to have more control when applying, so I can get better coverage. Plus, it gives me an air-brush-like-finish too.

In regards with coverage, Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation has medium coverage. What I like most, it evens almost everything out – redness, pores, acne, dark-spot – without concealer.

As for the finish, I find it not completely matte. It leans more to a satin finish. Therefore, it looks dewy on my very oily skin after about 4 hours indoor, and survived about 3 hours outdoors. It lasted about 8 hours the most on my very oily skin, with setting spray. After that my face looks very dewy. So, if you have a very oily skin, or perhaps, you are mainly on the road, I will recommend you to use setting spray highly.

The Shades

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless has a total of twenty four shades, but only nine are sold in Indonesia:

  1. 115 – Ivory
  2. 120 – Classic Ivory
  3. 125 – Nude Beige
  4. 130 – Buff Beige
  5. 228 – Soft Tan
  6. 230 – Natural Buff
  7. 235 – Pure Beige
  8. 238 – Rich Tan
  9. 320 – Natural tan

Here, mine is no 125 – Nude Beige. It matches my Light Asian Beige best.

Packaging

I noticed that most of Maybelline’s foundation is packaged in a glass packaging. My first foundation was the Dream Matte Mousse. It was also packaged in a glass jar. As for the Fit Me! Foundation, they packaged it in a glass bottle with a black screw-on cap.

I find it fine, but I really wish it to come with a pump! I know most of the drugstore foundations do not come with a pump; however, I hate to spill too much whenever I use this. I like the liquid powder packaging better. It does not come with a pump either, but it comes in a tip-ex like packaging, where you have to press a certain amount of pressure to get the product out. In short, we are in control on how much product we want to dispense.

The Store & The Price

Unfortunately, it is not officially sold at the Official Maybelline Indonesia retail counters, but you can always get it online from Beauty Online store such as at TWL Cosmetic or Beauty Haul Indonesia, or you can always pre-order them with your favorite online stores.

The price ranges from Rp 175,000.- to Rp 210,000.-.* It depends on which store you shop from, as each shops have their own pricing. Also, if you pre-order them, it depends on a few factors like currency rate and if the overseas stores you shop from, are having sale or not. It’s because I managed to get them for Rp 145,000.- once, that is when the drugstore.com had it on special.

Have you ever tried the Fit Me foundations? Let me know what you think!

I would love to try the Dream Satin later 🙂

  2. BS Beauty says:

Hi Lia, thank you for reading my post. I personally prefer the Matte & Poreless foundation than the Dream Satin. It’s because the Fit Me foundation is Matte & has pore formulation that helps to reduce the size of your pore, which is important for oily skin, coz oily skin has big pores. Big pores is the cause of oily skin. Hope it helps 🙂

Which one do you prefer? Dream satin or this one?

  4. BS Beauty says:

wahhh.. senangnya denger infonya membantu 🙂
    Hope it helps <3
