I can’t believe it! It’s been a year since my good friend told me the launched of Tutu Nail. Time surely flies away.
Initially, I went to Mall Sumarecon just to get my membership card from Birds & Bees – a baby shop. Who knows that I am gonna bump into her. What a pleasant surprise!
Tutu Nail is an Indonesian nail sticker brand. Unlike nail polish, in which we have to decorate first with various colours using various shapes of brushes to create the art, nail stickers allow you to get an instant nail art on on your nails.
There are various designs and colours to choose from: plain colours, gradation colours, cartoon characters, floral design, till various brand designs such as Channel & LV.
As explained above, it is nail stickers.
Just like other nail stickers out there, Tutu Nail Stickers comes in pre-cut sizes. This is good news and bad news. The good news, it is nice to have it pre-cut; so we don’t have to go through the trouble measuring each stickers to fit out nails. The bad news, it may not always match up with your nail dimensions; hence you may have gaps on the sides. However, I have more good news for you, Tutu Nail Stickers are made of flexible materials; hence, we can stretched the stickers to fit our nails!
As mentioned above, Tutu Nail have various sparkling designs to choose from, ranging from one plain color, color gradations, cartoons characters, girly floral, abstract till branded logos such as Channel & LV.
Mine here are some polkadots, hello kitty, Channel logo & sparkling colors:
It works pretty well. I put on the stickers in the morning on 8 November 2015, and it lasted up till today – 15 November 2015 almost midnight. To be exact, on the 15th November night, at 23:28, the stickers were still sticking on smoothly, though there was one that was broken.
As promised, here is my update. After wearing it for about two weeks, only some chunks of stickers were left on. Most of it were broken and gone as I used my hands to wash my hair everyday. If you don’t use your hands to wash your hair on daily basis, the stickers will last longer, as it is rarely rubbed and soaked in water.
To get the best result, you have to follow the instructions properly, which can be found on the back of the packaging. Here I retype it for you:
How to apply the nail stickers:
- Select the size that fits your nail
- Gently pull off the sticker and apply to your nail
- Smooth the nail surface until wrinkle free
- Fold the excess under the nail then gently remove it using nail buffer
- (Optional) For better result apply clear top coat
How to remove:
- Peel off sticker gently under running water.
- Remove remaining glue with cajeput oil (minyak kayu putih).
Just like most nail stickers, the Tutu Nail stickers come as oval decals in varying sizes on a clear, plastic backing, tucked inside a tiny plastic packet. There are 14 total wraps in one package.
On the back of the packet, Tutu includes clear instructions for application and removal; plus, this is what make Tutu is more special, they give us a cute pink & yellow nail buffer, which I found very handy. Also, they include their contact information (Line, Whatsapp, email & Instagram).
It cost Rp 30,000/pc. I think the pricing is fair enough for the amount of stickers you get, the designs & also for the quailty they offer.
You can get Tutu Nail stickers online from their Instagram @tutu.nail and at their retail stores:
- Mall Taman Anggrek
- Central Park
- Kota Kasablanka
- Summarecon Mall Serpong (New)
The Summarecon Mall Serpong store is the new store that just opened today, it is located at 1st floor, just in front of the Etude House.
- If I have to rate it, I will give 3.5/5 for now, as I am still testing its durability level.
- Does it worth the money? If you are too lazy to polish your nail, or too busy to have a manicure time like me, or perhaps you are in hurry for a short-notice event, yet you still would like to get your nail done; yes, it worth every bucks you pay for!
- Will I repurchase it? Of course!
That’s all for now 🙂 I hope you enjoy reading my review <3
