I have got this Maybelline The Blushed Nudes palette for months now, but I totally forget to write the review till I saw the display of the third palette two days ago. It was not long after I posted my review of the first palette – Maybelline Dare To Be Nudes, about 1 or 2 months after, the Blush Nudes Palette displayed on the beauty counters. I could not miss it, of course. I have been dying for this palette since I saw Almeida Kezia’s Makeup Tutorial on youtube. It was her favorite palette too.
So, here is my review and swatches of the palette, enjoy! <3
The Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette
Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette contains of 12 shades of rose gold pigment infused eye shadow colors. If the original palette shades are more into earthy shades, this blushed nudes palettes are more into mauvy-pinkish shade, which reminds me of Urban Decay Naked 3. It is also curated to be a pan of Rose Gold Eyeshadow shades. Unfortunately, I do not own it yet; therefore, I cannot make the comparison for you.
It has similar pigment quality with the original palette. In fact, the shades on the top row are very sheer. I think it must be because the shades are almost the same with my skintone, and they are the shimmery type. On the other end, the shades on the bottom row, which are darker have better color pay off.
- The frosty shades are packed with chunky glitters
- The matte shades have dry and chalky texture
- The shimmery shades are also having powdery texture, but are more soft and creamy
- Some of the shimmers are actually having a satin finish instead of shimmery.
- As for the Longevity, it lasted only a few hours without primer on me, because I got monolids + oily skin. However, with eye primer, it lasts up to a 8 hours.
As mention above, Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette is consisted of Rose Gold combination colors. I will try my best explaining each shades, starting from Top Left – Bottom Right:
Shade 1: Frosty white with sparkles. This is the most sheer shade in the palette.
Shade 2: Light pink shade with fine sparkles.
Shade 3: Light peachy-cream shade
Shade 4: Warm Brown (this is my favorite! <3)
Shade 5: Light Pink Champagne
Shade 6: Medium rose gold
Shade 7: Shimmery light grey
Shade 8: Shimmery neutral brownish-taupe
Shade 9: Light purple-ish mauve shimmer
Shade 10: Matte Taupe
Shade 11: Purpleish-brown satin-matte with fine iridescent sparkle
Shade 12: Black matte with rose gold glitter (the glitters are chunky and messy, be careful when applying)
From my experiement, the pigmentation of this The blushed nudes palette is better when you apply the shadows with hands instead of with makeup brush. Therefore, I always use my fingers whenever I use this palette to apply, then switch to brush just for blending the shades.
Among the 12 shades, my favorite shades that I find myself often picking it up on daily basis are shade 1, 4 and 11.
The first thing you will notice is the color of the packaging. If Nudes Palette comes in a black plastic compact, the blushed nudes palette comes in a mauvy plastic compact that matches the title and the shadows shade combo offered.
As you can see from the picture, The Blushed Nudes Palette is bigger in size or bulkier than the Original Palette. I do not notice the difference until I put it side by side to take pictures. Another difference that I noticed, they replace the two-double ended sponge brush with single double ended brush. The brush has two different end, sponge tip on one end and a brush on the other. I personally like this better than the old ones, because it’s more useful. The brush end is very helpful when it comes to blending. I find it works best than sponge tip.
